National Young Readers Week November 10-14, 2014

National Young Readers Week is an annual event that was co-founded in 1989 by Pizza Hut and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. To make this week special, many schools recruit local "celebrities" to read aloud a favorite children's book to classroom.

At MES these are our activities for the week:

Monday:  Story Book Character Day (Faculty & Staff dress as story book characters)

Tuesday:  TECH Tuesday (Teachers share online stories with students)

Wednesday:  D.E.A.R. DAY (Drop Everything and Read)

Thursday:  Celebrity Day (Local celebrities read to students)

Friday:  Thank You Note Day (Share a note of thanks with someone)

On behalf of the faculty and staff, we are delighted to have you as part of the Macedonia Elementary School family.  We look forward to sharing a successful school year with you.

One of our goals at Macedonia Elementary School is to create an impressive degree of parental involvement.  Please help us with this endeavor by volunteering as your schedule allows, by attending programs and performances, and by communicating regularly with your child’s teachers.  By working together, we can continue to make Macedonia Elementary School a great place for students to learn!

See you at school!
